Straight answers about our hand-poured Maine beeswax candles — what they’re made of, how long they take, and how to burn them.
What are Conway Candle Sanctuary candles made of?
100% pure Maine beeswax, colored with plant dye and mica — never paraffin. Some pieces get a light coconut-oil polish for shine. Each candle is hand-poured into a mold in Midcoast Maine.
Are beeswax candles better than soy or paraffin?
Beeswax is hive-made wax with a longer, cleaner burn and a soft honey note — Conway Candle Sanctuary pours 100% pure Maine beeswax in Midcoast Maine and never uses paraffin.
How long does a beeswax candle burn?
Burn time varies with the size and shape of the candle, and we don’t publish hour counts yet. Bigger candles burn longer, so each Single lists its weight — rose 2.96 oz, Meo cat 2.19 oz, RBF cat 3 oz, pumpkins 3.07–14.07 oz, apple 6.9 oz, artichoke 12.3 oz. Compare weights on Singles.
How long until my order is ready?
Every candle is made to order. Please allow 1–3 weeks for your order to be poured and ready to ship or pick up. For large wholesale orders, ask Jack to confirm timing on the wholesale page.
Do you ship Maine beeswax candles?
Yes — checkout is live on Singles. Shipping and packaging are paid by the customer, and local pickup in Midcoast Maine is free.
Will my candle look exactly like the photo?
Close, but not identical. Plant dye and mica colors vary from pour to pour, so every candle is a little different — photos show shapes and types.
How should I burn a beeswax candle?
Set it on a heat-safe dish away from drafts, children and pets, and never leave a lit candle unattended.
